Pulmonary Hypertension is a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart. It makes it harder for blood to flow through the lungs, which can cause the heart to work too hard.

- Lung diseases like COPD or pulmonary fibrosis
- Heart problems
- Blood clots in the lungs
- Autoimmune diseases like lupus or scleroderma
- Sometimes, doctors don’t know the cause—this is called idiopathic pulmonary hypertension
Symptoms
People with Pulmonary Hypertension may notice:
- Shortness of breath, especially during activity
- Feeling tired or weak
- Chest pain or pressure
- Dizziness or fainting
- Swelling in the legs, ankles, or belly
